Luz Community Development Coalition was established on July 4,2003. The Coalition serves the Latino community of Clark County by providing a forum in which interested organizations, agencies, and individuals can work in unison to support a healthy community through education, assessment, communication, and evaluation by supporting prevention programs that will benefit the communities.
Effective July of 2007, Luz received our status as a recognized 501c3 non-profit organization. We have developed prevention education and public awareness of substance related issues within our community by facilitating the development and implementation of a comprehensive prevention plan to coordinate prevention strategies and activities throughout our service area.
Luz will continue to build our prevention capacity and infrastructure through the expansion of our partnerships, cultivation of prevention systems, collaborative initiatives within the service population, the leveraging of, and access to existing resources and the identification of strategies designed to address and reduce substance use and a multitude of other issues within the Latino community.
